This section includes family trees traced back to ancestors in London and South East England. They include:
Sergisons of Cuckfield Park – the origins of the family have been traced as far back as current records allow.
Sargensons of Rotherhithe – based about Rotherhithe in London with the main branch of the family being coopers.
Seargerson/Saggersons – unusual surname variants, mostly based in Spitalfields.
The main surname variants in these trees are Sargison and Sargenson.
Serginson family – headed by Thomas who spent time in Fleet debtors prison.
Surgison family tree – an unusual surname variant.
There were also two small family groups found in London. The first of these was headed by George Sargeson, possibly born about 1650 in Cumberland, a merchant taylor in the parish of All Hallows, Barking. His will mentions two people, possibly from Kirby Stephen in Westmorland and one of the witnesses was Chas Sergison. A definitive link to Cumberland/Westmorland hasn’t been found so far.
The second family group is headed by Charles Sergerson probably born about 1715. He married Rebecca Hall. It was a Fleet marriage and Charles was a brushmaker. The four daughters I’ve found for this couple were all born in Westminster.
