My grandfather George Sarginson was born and raised his family in Riccall, Yorkshire. However, his direct line of descent is from Elias Sargeantson who married his wife in Holme upon Spalding Moor and died on a prison hulk in Portsmouth harbour. Many of the descendants of Elias and his wife Mary lived in the Howden area of the East Riding of Yorkshire and a number of other relatives moved further afield in the late 1800s and early 1900s. There are people in this tree living in a wide area of the North East of England and some further afield than that.
