Thomas was baptised on 12 May 1805 in St Mary’s Church, Carlisle, Cumberland. His parents were Richard and Mary Sargent. By the time of his death Thomas had changed his surname to Sarginson. Some of his children also changed their surnames as can be seen in the following descendant report.
